Workshop Information

  • We will accept up to 10 workshops, with room to grow if interest is strong. 
  • Workshops will run live on Zoom and connect through GSA Enrich. 
  • Sessions will be 1.5-2 hours, scheduled across select Tuesdays and Thursdays in October 2026, with possible November additions if demand is high.
  • GSA’s Digital Programs team will fully produce each workshop and provide end-to-end technical support (Zoom setup, rehearsals, live run-of-show support, troubleshooting, and attendee management), so organizers can stay focused on content while we focus on execution - no tech stress.
  • Applications must include an interactive plan. To be eligible, proposals must clearly describe the digital activities you’ll use to engage participants - e.g., breakout discussions/working groups, live polling, chat prompts, moderated Q&A, interactive tools/exercises, and other audience-participation elements.
  • Workshops will be peer reviewed for both content quality and interactive feasibility/capability. The Digital Programs team will support the technical delivery of your planned activities once accepted.
  • Application submissions for GSA 2026 Online Workshops open February 1 - March 13, 2026. 
  • Workshop application review and scheduling will be begin mid-March, 2026.
  • Workshop acceptance emails will be sent in early-May, 2026.

Application

The submission process begins February 1, 2026. The deadline to complete a workshop application and submit the processing fee is March 13, 2026. 

Please review the following workshop application requirements.

    • Workshop Title: Submit the title of your workshop exactly as you would like it to appear in all marketing materials for the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting (100 characters maximum).
    • Rationale for Session Topic: Briefly explain why this topic is important and why it is suited to an interactive virtual workshop environment.
    • Intended Audience: Describe the populations of the GSA Annual Scientific Meeting attendees that your proposed workshop will serve. More detail will enable us to ensure marketing efforts target the correct audience. 
    • Workshop Duration: Applicants may choose between a 90-minute (1.5 hours) or 120-minute (2 hours) session, depending on the needs of the proposed content.
    • Workshop Format & Interactive Run-of-Show: Provide a detailed, time-stamped plan for how the virtual workshop will run. Include: Segment descriptions (e.g., introduction, demonstrations, breakout discussions), interactive methods that will be used , estimated timing for each segment, and any materials participants may need (digital or physical). The application will provide a list of interactive methods that can be incorporated. 
    • Learning Objectives: List productive outcomes of participating in your workshop. What are some direct takeaways attendees will be able to bring back to their organizations? What skills will they develop through partaking in your workshop? (At least two learning objectives must be provided.)
    • Workshop Description for Marketing: Provide a summary of the workshop that will encourage individuals to register for the session (150-250 words maximum). GSA will promote the workshop through a variety of mechanisms.
    • Supporters: GSA recommends that all workshops be endorsed by a GSA Section, Organization, Unit, Committee, or Interest Group. (If Applicable)
    • Presenters & Presenters' Info: Each workshop may have a Chair and up to 15 additional presenters. The application will require first name, last name and affiliation.
    • Non-refundable Application processing fee: $100.00
